2027 Fall Dates

the definition of a pilgrimage is simply a journey to a sacred place as a demonstration of devotion. what compels us to become so devoted that we're willing to leave home for weeks, even months at a time, and travel halfway around the world, away from family and loved ones, in order to reach this sacred place -- that is a more complex mystery. all i can say is i wish it wasn't compulsory. but it is, or, at least, it has been for me"

 ~meggan watterson, mary magalene revealed

where you're going

nestled in the provence region in the south of france is a town called la sainte baume, or the sacred mountain

it is believed that this is where mary magdalene lived out the years of her life, and thte entirely of the Provence region is devoted to her.

this pilgrimage we'll stay at an air b&b in  "nans les pins" -- a quaint french town near the base of the mountain (you'll be able to see it as you walk through town)

you will:

hike to mary magdalene's grotto, visit her basilica, and explore the elusive grotte ze oueffs (the cave of eggs), and spend one day in a nearby beach town, cassis

please note that this is a hiking oriented trip -- you can expect a minimum of 60 minutes of hiking each day that we visit the cave of eggs and the grotto. (think uphill, withs some minor scrambling) a packing list with suggested items will be provided upon confirming :)

Chelsea Quint

Chelsea (she/her) is a writer, actor, and lifelong seeker who came to business through storytelling — and came to storytelling through a deep belief that the most important thing any of us can do is tell the truth about our lives.

She's spent years exploring the intersection of embodiment and expression — through yoga, breathwork, and the kind of creative work that asks you to show up fully rather than perform. Her background spans journalism, theatre, and novel writing, alongside a career in marketing that began with major brands and evolved into helping brilliant entrepreneurs find the words for what they actually do.

Chelsea lives on the East Coast with her chef husband, her corgi, and two cats. She makes handmade Valentine's cards and gives them to strangers. She visits Paris every chance she gets. She improvises songs about what her pets are thinking, and she believes that Mary Magdalene deserves a much better ending than the one we were handed. She's deeply honored to be on this pilgrimage. You can learn more about chelsea and her work here

Olivia and Chelsea have traversed this mountain and cave together extensively, many many times, including the 2026 inaugural Magdalene Pilgrimages. We cannot wait to walk this path with you!!!

how intense is the hiking?

it's definitely an athletic hike :) we're climbing up and across the the side of the mountain - the path to the cave of eggs is more off-trail, but it's marked (and we know the way by heart :) )

the path to mary magdalene's grotto is roughly paved, but is uphill the entire way
